A friend and I will be in Formia, Italy visiting my son. We plan on leaving Formia on July 10 and traveling to Florence, then leaving Florence on July 13 and Traveling to Venice, leaving Venice on July 15 traveling to Rome and then leaving Rome July 17 traveling back to Formia. We will probably travel south a couple of days later as well.
It appears that the Saverpass for 6 days would be best for us. I see there is a sale on right now that ends April 30th. I have checked schedules, and the Formia connections timetables are showing as not available until May. I also see that it says reservations may be made 60 days in advance.
I have never done this, so just don't want to make a mistake in my booking as I see these are non-refundable. Could you please answer the following questions. I'll be placing my order as soon as I am sure I understand.
1. Is the Saverpass valid on the Intercity trains that connect to Formia?
2. If we have a reservation and miss our train, is our saverpass still valid to use on another train that may have space by making a reservation at the station or just hoping for an empty seat?
3. The Florence to Venice and Venice to Rome timetables appear to be available now. Even though it is more than 60 days in advance, is it possible to make the reservations for those trains now?
4. If we purchase our saver passes now and then make reservations later, will we receive an e-mail confirmation or will something need to physically be mailed to us?
THANK YOU in advance for your help.
