Thank you for your email. Based on the trips you are making, it actually would be more cost effective if you purchase the rail pass, including the additional mandatory cost for the seat reservations. If you purchase the city to city tickets, the costs are: Milano>Venezia $44, Venezia>Firenze $59, Firenze>Roma $61, and Roma>Milano is $123. These prices all include the seat reservations, and will allow you to change the ticket one time up until the day before the travel date. The total, if you purchase the tickets, is $287. If you purchase the 4 day in 2 month railpass, because there are 2 adults, you will qualify for the saver pass, which is a discounted rate based on 2 or more adults travelling together at all times. So, the 4 day saver pass will be $216 per person, and then you need to add the cost of the seat reservations, which are mandatory. So you will add $60 per person ($15 per seat per train) So with the pass, you are going to be looking at a total of $276 for the pass.
