We have self service or etickets, if your ticket is an eticket then the confirmation email sent to you is your ticket, you can either print it out and take it with you, or show it on a smart phone or tablet to the conductor for validation, he just needs to see the PNR number.
If it is a self service train ticket, you have to have the ticket printed at a kiosk at the train station, then validate it at a validation machine on the platform before boarding the train.
