There are overnight trains to take you from Naples to Venice, what you have to decide with a point to point ticket vs a railpass is whats going to work best for you.
The Eurail pass allows flexibility in your travels but is not necessarily the most economical way to travel, You still have to pay seat reservation fees
on all the High speed train on top of the cost of the pass,Yet it allows you the flexibility to purchase those on day of travel and not be locked into a time and date like a point to point ticket. Overnight trains I would definitley book ahead of time, they sell out.
Point to point tickets can be the least expensive way to go with Trenitalia's sale fares but those fares are the most restrictive, make sure you read the Fare rules, the lowest fares do not allow any changes or refunds. You have to travel on that day at that time or you lose the ticket.
