My booking payment was deducted BEFORE I made my purchase, and at the end, I was charged twice. Help me please.
I was making a debit card purchase for 101 USD and right after I filled in my billing address, I was transferred to another page where the site told me to review my card information and billing address. I proof read and saw an error in my "card holder", so I fixed it and proceeded to make my payment.
The payment, 101 USD was made at 3:54 a.m. and I was notified immediately with a confirmation e-mail. However, when I checked my bank account activity, there were two payment activities for 101 USD made at 3:54 and 3:45 a.m.
- The 3:54 a.m. charge was when I confirmed the payment.
- The 3:45 a.m. charge occured at the exact time when I went back and edited my card information and billing address.
I believe that I was charged when I went back and edited my billing and card information, and also when I made my purchase, resulting in double charging.
It is also unlikely that this is a pre-authorization hold because of the time of payment; besides if it was a pre-authorization hold, it should have dropped off by now since it has been 6 days since my purchase, and according to my bank, the settlement has been agreed upon.
If there is another explanation, please inform me.
